Transformation” expresses the quiet force of inner change. The androgynous figure, draped in a garment shifting between cloth and armour, embodies a universal resilience. Their calm gaze reflects the clarity that comes from facing oneself fully and the confidence to move forward unapologetically.
Symbols throughout the composition evoke metamorphosis, self-reclamation and grace under pressure. Monarch butterflies, often associated with rebirth, become carriers of emotional resonance. In French, papillons suggest the flutter of something transcendent, a rising within the chest. That sensation is meant to spread across the body and into the space around it, as blooming does, quietly but irreversibly.
Though abstracted, the work holds elements of a self-portrait and marks a crossing from endurance to embodiment, from silence to self-possession.
